About the Artwork
A heavy field of white covers a face, leaving only one eye exposed. The white represents the persona we build to feel accepted and safe. Beneath it, the parts we conceal remain present.
What we suppress doesn't disappear. The exposed eye and uneven edges suggest that concealment is rarely complete. What protects us can also keep us from being fully seen.
Recognizing ourselves begins with looking beneath what we have learned to show.
Medium: Acrylic on basswood plywood
Dimensions: 17.5 × 23.5 × 1.5 inches (width × height × depth)
Construction: Basswood plywood panel with a hand-built wood cradle, crafted by the artist for a 1.5-inch gallery-depth profile.
Year Created: 2026
Artwork Type: Original, one-of-a-kind painting
Signature: Signed and titled on the reverse
Display: Ready to hang; hanging hardware installed
Authenticity: Includes a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity
