About the Artwork
A single match burns against a wide field of darkness. Its flame is small, but it's the strongest presence in the painting.
The match represents our limited energy, time, and attention; the darkness represents everything outside our control. Its small flame asks us to consider what matters enough to receive what we have left to give.
Choose what still deserves your fire. Not everything is meant to be kept burning.
Medium: Acrylic on basswood plywood
Dimensions: 17.5 × 23.5 × 1.5 inches (width × height × depth)
Construction: Basswood plywood panel with a hand-built wood cradle, crafted by the artist for a 1.5-inch gallery-depth profile.
Year Created: 2026
Artwork Type: Original, one-of-a-kind painting
Signature: Signed and titled on the reverse
Display: Ready to hang; hanging hardware installed
Authenticity: Includes a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity
